Thank you. I saw a tape of the interview. The President emphasized the word "it" to imply a typical military war with an enemy who can wave a white flag or sign terms of surrender. It was quite obvious in the context of the conversation. The other comments posted were a continuation of that same interview with Lauer. Much hoopla was bantied about in the media and then quickly dropped after about a day because of the obviousness of the context...there was no flip/flop but the President did feel compelled to reassure those who might have been taken in by disingenuous "quote lifters."--MK--
