"Bush wouldn't condemn the Swifties, so his 'service' and Cheney's 5 deferments are now fair game, it would seem"

Good to see you acknowledge that it wasn't fair game when the dems brought it up over 4 years ago. How many people do you think don't know about these things? And why do you think that they care that much when they elected Bill Clinton (who actually enlisted help to get out of Viet Nam service) to office TWICE?

This post is a good example of dem "logic". Dishonestly attack the President as being AWOL (as the leader of the dem party did on national tv), and then cry like a baby (and dishonestly blame Bush) when a group with a different view point than your own speaks up. Why would Kerry be so stupid as to base his Presidential run on his Viet Nam service anyway? My guess is that even he knows his record in the Senate has been one of failure. Has he ever gotten a bill through? Can you name anything he was even correct about?

Kevin, I really dont think the average american holds it against anyone who LEGALLY and honestly avoided active duty in Nam. Heck, I dont and I was there. Now if someone ran off to Canada or like Clinton ran off to England I could see a reason to beef. What Kerry did is FAR WORSE IMHO in that he came back and HOBKNOBBED with the NVA in Paris and other things to get his cousin that contract that hurt POW's and possibly lead to MISSING PERSONS being written off. I really dont think Bush has anything to do with the Swift Vets and I agree with him that it isnt fair for him to attack them AND NOT attack the other special interest groups. He chose to attack them all and that seems right to me. jdn
