Oh. So it was all just a cover. Gotcha. Sure, Kerry was probably bright enough to see that one coming. Doesn't mean he had to agree with the methods...

The end game (end result) is that it is unacceptable for the US and the world that Saddam would be in charge of Iraq + Kuwait, on his way to take over Saudi Arabia and the Emirates. That's more than half of world oil reserves and possible more than half of the world's production capacity.

As far as methods, it would be a complete chaos if each of the 535 people in Congress wanted to set the strategy and methods. And, based on the constitution, it is the job of the executive branch anyway.

Congress's job is to formally declare wars, when it comes to that, and Congress can't even handle that with clarity.
