Kevin, I dont think that is true. when Nixon campaigned for presidency he stated that he would end the war in Vietnam. So he already was moving in that direction. At first the NVA would not even negotiate cause they felt the American people would weaken Nixons hand. To force them to the table we began heavy bombing of Hanoi, then we mined the Harbor etc etc. I dont know if you are old enough to know about all this, but I was living through it. I think if anything Kerry PROLONGED the war although I admit, whether Kerry was there or not Jane Fonda would have been leading the protests. jdn
