I was referring to creation of a cabinet level position for Homeland Security... I think the issue was whether the position should be a presidential appointee or not. There are legitimate debates on both sides of the issue. If you're trying to make the case that Bush is soft on Homeland Security, I really don't think anyone is going to buy that. Obviously, he has been much stronger than Gore would have been, and he has been much stronger Kerry would have been. Could he have done better? I think there is always room for improvement. But I honestly don't know of a soul whom I think would have done a better job. Zell Miller, perhaps <g>...
