I did see and did notice that.

Why is it the past Republican Presidents seem very genuine, Reagan and this Bush, but the most recent Democrat President and this Democrat candidate seem so fake?

Only naive and the imbecilic Republican supporters would have fallen for Bush's histrionics!!! Ann, I am amazed that you thought Bush was sincere. But really, I shouldn't be surprised as your job here is to foist all that is misleading and false upon the unsuspecting.

That at least a portion of his speech, by your own opinion, was crafted by Ms. Hughes for effect, suggests to me that Bush's teary-eyed display was all theatre.

IMHO, Kerry is genuinely sensitive to unnecessary loss of life. That was why he harangued in 1971 against continuing the war in Vietnam. Republican "I-am-not-a-crook" Nixon who was determined not to be the first president to lose a war tried his best to silence Kerry's forceful eloquence (how do you ask a man to die for someone's mistake?) and his compelling logic with the help of O'Neill but he failed. At the end of the day, Nixon was forced to bring the troops home.

Now, with Bush's re-election at stake, the Republicans have been desperately maligning Kerry every which way they can, and they shamelessly exploit the naivety and irrationality of a good number of Vietnam Vets to mount specious accusations against him.
