God that sounds good! Now, in order to be really smart about this, tell us what exactly those trained "Iraqi police and national security" forces will be loyal enough to so that they'll be willing to put their lives on the line when tested by one of the many radical, passionate and deadly factions in Iraq? Will it be their paychecks? Will it be their strong belief in secular, democratic government? Will it be their loyalty to the ex CIA guy we put in charge? Will it be their desire to please the Western world? What will it be? Those Iraqi forces are real people, not robot-like Star Troopers. Training or no training, what will change to make them committed to the point of putting their lives on the line? So far they've cut and run every time it came to "defending" the "new Iraq" from it's internal "enemies." What will change if WE "stick it out?" (As you'll no doubt recall, when this country fought a war for reasons the population generally didn't support, there were many who refused to put their lives on the line. Many of those that did fight had little choice when placed a half a world away with people shooting at them.) Since we're sending young men and women to do this thing, and since they're coming home in coffins, without limbs faces and other parts, and since we're asking them to kill for this cause, I think we ought to be asking tough questions regarding "how" these lauditory goals will "probably" be achieved by their sacrifices. That means we need to understand the politics of the thing cause, hey, it ain't about some training program.
