I don't mean to be unkind. But I am amazed you do not see that the Middle East is super-rich in oil--- a commodity that is so vital that the west doesn't seem to be able to get enough of it.

The Moslems resent the presence of western foreigners who for the most part are Christians. Also, the Moslems see that Israel is partial to Israel which threatens to expand its territories at the expense of the Moslems in Palestine.

Don't forget that in 1989 Israel bombed a nuclear reactor in Iran because Israel regarded Iran as a threat to its security.

India is of little or no interest to western powers today. Don't forget the British who had occupied India from ca. 1600 left India for good in 1948. India does not have as much exploitable oil as the Middle East has. Even if India has lots of oil, it will be next to impossible for foreign powers to exploit it profitably for themselves.

Bottom line is the OIL in the Middle East. Whoever controls the oil there has a lot of clout politically and economically worldwide.
