Bush may be ahead by about 4% now. He just had his convention plus his huge smear campaign got 100% media attention. This is bad for democracy and America but it's an undeniable fact. The liars on the far right got more than their day in court, they got taken seriously though they didn't deserve it. From now on though we hear mainly the other side of the argument. The truth is on Kerry's side. He knows it and so does everyone in his campaign. The fact that Bush got a bump just makes Kerry campaign all the more determined to correct the record. Expect more dynamic challenges to Bush and more passmive truth squad actions in the weeks to come. Then the debates where Kerry will clobber Bush with the truth. The truth is a powerful weapon. it won't win over everyone, just the majority.
