I know a thing or 2 about Austria. Arnold is right on the money, and the Austrian historian does not know the context and proper use of English language. Read my lips..........Bull! You're lying to cover up for Arnold's gaffes. Austria has a long tradition of conservative governance. Arnold is an actor......he makes up his lines as he goes along. While we call countries of Eastern Block Communist, they call themselves Socialist. What we call (at least on the right of the spectrum) call Socialist countries, such as Sweden and Austria (in those days), they call, I don't know what, Social Democracy or whatever. Bull. A few years ago, the party of an avowed conservative racist, Jorge Haider, gained a third of the seats in Austria's Congress. At one point, it was believed he would be Austria's next Prime Minister. He is an avowed fascist and an admirer of Hitler. Austria has a long tradition of conservatism......maybe not as conservative as Texas but conservative enough. One of my German friend's parents emigrated to Germany in the 1950s because he felt Austria was too conservative. And this guy was no socialist liberal........he's a renown scientist in chemistry. Conservative but not nearly as conservative as his Austrian brethren. Arnold is speaking American English (with Austrian accent) with American context. Arnold has a big mouth. He knows how to play the crowd with his girlie man anecdotes and that's what he did this week. He's gotten away with it before and was not smart enough to realize he would get caught this time. BTW you should be ashamed that you are defending his misrepresentations. That only encourages blatant lying.
