I find it amusing that many people now look up Islamic information and explain to people that have studied it long before it became known as an issue to them. You have to admit, you had no idea what a Sunni or Shiite was before recent events. Most people had no clue who OBL was til days or weeks after the attack. Some knew after the Coles. Due to thelack of importance Clinton and the press placed on him, the people remained ignorant. AQ and OBL were named as conspirators in the first Trade Tower bombing. Your statement was that due to the Shiities being at odds (oppressed) by Saddam , that OBL and his boys wouldn't connect. There is no reasoning to that argument. Wahhabbi's have no allegence to either sect. The reasoning you should consider is a very old Middle Eastern philosophy..." The enemy of my enemy is my friend. A significant post Kevin, with a few errors. You said: "Wahabbi's are akin to our fundamentalist Christians." A more accurate statement: "Wahabbi's are akin to our fundamentalist Christians-Zionists and our fundamentalist Jews who follow the Talmud. There are millions of Christian fundamentalist, a majority, who are not crazy Christian-Zionists. Since we have Moslem fundamentalist, Jewish fundamentalist and Christian-Zionist are all contributing to this ugly "clash of civilization" war that we are presently experiencing, I found it a bit strange that you would omit one of the critical radical fundamentalist components contributing to this war. In fact, I firmly believe that if it were not for the fanatic fundamentalist Orthodox Zionists who colonized Israel, we would have NO war against terrorism today. So leaving out the fundamentalist Jewish/Talmudic component is a serious omission that does not contribute to honest dialog.
