NOW: 1 - Dick Cheney needs to send Bill Clinton a thank-you note; if the heart attack came a week earlier, wouldn't Cheney have gotten the pink slip? 2 - And the heart attack increases the (non-existent) pressure on Kerry to release his medical records. How frail these mortals be... 3 - Hillary politicized the heart attack with a comment about "thank heaven we have good insurance, and we will work for the day when everyone does". (Sorry, I am paraphrasing), Loose the hounds! (Please, don't.) 4 - Kerry has missed at least half the point about the Swiftees - rebutting the truth or falsity of their claims is only a part of the story. John Edwards said to the convention something the Swiftees repeated in their first ad - if you want to know about the character of John Kerry, ask the men who served with him. Well, even if the 200 Swiftees are lying, what does it say about Kerry's character that 200 of his fellow officers and sailors would come out of the woodwork and lie, cheat, and steal to keep him out of the White House? Mickey noted this with a comment that one consequence of the Swifteesis that Kerry no longer offers a return to normalcy. Au contraire - Reps viciously attacking Dems is "normal". Dole made a related point with his "they can't all be lying Republicans"; some of the public probably figures, where there's smoke, there's fire. And I don't have an answer for that, BTW. But proving the Swiftees "wrong" is not really the point - the point is, the guys Edwards would said would vouch for Kerry loathe him. 5 - The Russian school disaster is bad for Kerry. 6 - DING!
