>>so Advantage and Baytex get burned ... like Barrick...

Suppose your mother held two assets... Gold and Government bonds. Would you today advise her to sell her bonds and go 100% to gold ? Or would you think it prudent to be so diversified ?

Isn't it valid to think of Barrick that way?... Rather than have all its assets (reserves) linked to the value of gold, they linked some of them (14% to 16%) to the value of bonds. Must I consider the consequences as "getting burned" just because 100% gold would have proven more profitable ?

Spotted,
Very good observation on your part. Sometime when the allure of gold fades for me or I feel the need to diversify I will have you line me up with a group of 10 or so good Canroy's, I guess you call them, for me to pick a couple from for my PF. If you lead I will pick. Then you don't have to feel bad if they go down because you and I know no matter how good the selection that does not guarantee success.
Tom

Spots, which of the canroyls are the least hedged? What are your top three? I want to watch 'em for a while, need something to do if POG continues to correct....Also if oil comes back down the hedgers will look smart...<g>
