If you think this thread is pretty much out of the mainstream, then you need to quit this thread. I will not have you requesting to be put back on this thread and then ridiculing this thread with comments like that.

That's weird. I saw a poll a week ago where over 50% believed Bush was behind the SmearVet ads. Newsweek is a very credible magazine so there's no hanky panky there but it's totally out of wack with other polls.

This creates a challenge for Kerry. He knows they're lying about him and didn't even serve with him, but he also admits the disagreement between some about anti-war verysus pro Vietnam war types. We know now the Vietnam War was all wrong but it's the way the Smearvets describe Kerry's actions to end the war which are damaging. This BS has to be straightened out.

Kerry has two choices, either ignore it and concentrate on real present day issues (some say that's the wisest, being mature and above it) or take a time out to totally discredit the Smearvets with tons of evidence to give to the press. That both discredits the SMearvets and makes them headlines again. Hmm. Tough choice. If I were on Kerry's staff I know there'd be a big debate this weekend.

Do you confront a liar or ignore him? I guess it depends.

Bush is very much behind the smearvets. Though of course like the Mafia, he has a buffer zone so legally he cannot be busted.

News Week says only 27% of Americans believe Bush is behind the SwiftVets ads.

What percentage, I wonder, think that Kerry is behind the MoveOn ads?

the Dem linkis with MO are much stronger than the Rep links with SwiftVets.

the whole 527 thing is a disgrace. If the FEC had any guts at all, those ads would never have made it to the air on either side.

But the odds of that happening are about as good as the odds of Chinu and Laz unbanning each other.

This thread doesn't slavishly follow polls.

Did you get bored with the Smearvets thread? I did. Those brownshirts are as dumb as a bag of rocks.
