The beauty part is, they don't have to sling any mud because the Swiftvets are happy to sling it for them.

And the best part is, they don't need Rove's money or the charges proved. All they need to do is say, "You want people to ask the men who served with him? Ask us!"

Most people have no idea who Rove is, or what the charges mean. But they understand that. I think that character reference alone is doing the job.
