One thing I don't get - how is it that Brinkley didn't find out about the combat V and the three citations?

Good question.

Tour of Duty was published this year.

Brinkley discusses the SS beginning in Page 294. The citation is on pages 294-295. It is the original citation...You know, the one that Kerry lost and had replaced twice beginning some 20 years ago.
LOL.

I have the utmost confidence in the US Navy's Inspector General (IG). He will get to the bottom of of this mess and do it as quickly as possible.

I will be quite willing to accept the IG's findings and I expect most servicemen will.

I do find it quite suspicious that Kerry's campaign opposes getting the record right. Afterall Kerry has not made a single statement regarding this matter.

Who but a Kerry would be opposed to learning the truth?

He wasn't knowledgeable enough to know about the combat V. Most people would not have known it. He had no reason to doubt the others.

The Academic Historians. You know, the ones that sell 10 books, are envious of Brinkley, call him a "popularizer." They are loving this controversy.
