They can form anywhere in the North Atlantic basin, Carribean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico .. typically September storms form off West Africa near the Cape Verde Islands and is referred to as the "Cape Verde" season by meterologists .. For some reason the South Atlantic never/very rarely has a hurricane .. Hurricane's in the N Pacific are typhoons and cyclones elsewhere .. Triff ..
