I think he's very cunning, and manipulative. I don't equate that with high intelligence. Intelligent people are curious, Bush isn't. I think he may decieve himself, but I don't think he's anywhere near as evil as, say, Dick Cheney. I do think he's somewhat evil, but is blind to it. As he's said, he doesn't do self examination. Sometimes the greatest evil is done by well intentioned people acting on their beliefs.
I think one of the best books on him is "Shrub" by Molly Ivins. It was written when he was running for Governor of Texas. His real persona was more accessible then.

Bush scares the hell out of me. He is the type of serial blunderer that could easily start WW III through some mistaken series of events.
