The primary advantage to those who favor letting the Feds do everything, is they think there is no restraint on the spending power of the Federal Government whereas the States are slaves to economics.

... I am presently wishing that every Muslim would vanish from the face of the earth. Or, if they won't do us the favor of simply vanishing, that we "vanish" them ourselves.

I dealt with an email from a friend over the weekend who reprised his theme of "kill all the Muslims." I dealt with it by being sympathetic to his feelings rather than being my usual analytic self. It's a natural reaction.

In my mind, Beslan truly stands out in the history of terrorism. I hope some good can come from it by forcing some introspection and some opposition within the Muslim community. Surely this has to cross the line for everyone who considers himself human.

That's an old, old meme

Yes, so it seems, but somehow I missed it for the first half of my life. I don't recall ever feeling so stupid as when the light bulb finally came on, which is why it's so stuck in my craw. So if I slip into an occasional rant about federalism, that's why.

"I am presently wishing that every Muslim would vanish from the face of the earth"

I have lived in the ME for 20 years and will say that most people over here are very good people. Although the culture is quite different from ours, they are extremely hospitable people that would do most anything for you. Do not paint all for the crimes of about 3%.

Through extensive travels I will say this is true in any country. Probably 95% of the people are good and just like you and I. Trying to earn a living and support family.

Regards
