Samsung is set to introduce a handset with a 1.5GB HDD...price around $800 (available in Korea only).

dvhardware.net

Samsung introduces a embedded memory package for cell-phones with two 1Gbit NAND chips and two 256Mbit DRAM chips.

commsdesign.com

Am I correct to assume that Sandisks patents on NAND flash would apply to embedded packages?

I think that this slide from Nokia, combined with the news from Korea, absolutely clinches the fact that MP3 functionality will be a standard item in mid and high-end handsets next year.

veracast.com

Slide #10 is titled "Nokia 6230:Best Selling Mid-Range Phone Ever?" The handset (MP3 player/MMC) began selling in March and sold 1.5 million units in the quarter with strength continuing into the third quarter. The handset just went on sale in the US market.

I dont know if MP3 functionality will follow the ramp of camera phones but slide #6 shows the ramp for units in that market.
