He wouldn't. But I have run across many conservatives who are completely convinced that the US has the highest taxes in the world. Admittedly, I don't know if DR is one of those. True, taxes aren't the lowest, there are a lot of third world countries with lower taxation rates for example...

And this isn't to say that taxes couldn't be lower. But it probably isn't possible (or even desireable) to increase efficiency, so to cut taxes much more results in less services, assuming that it is not a good thing to increase the deficit.

I think the thread started with Z claiming that we are one of the lowest (second lowest) tax rates in the industrialized world. Why would DR need to show our tax rates are the highest? David is not claiming that.


In fact, he WAS suggesting that the US is near the top by posting these rates for various countries without providing supporting documentation:
