You must read Kerry's Silver Star citation on his web site. He, after heroically beaching his boat, in contravention of all Naval regs and common sense (can you imagine trying to back off a 50' boat beached in the mud?), apparently, took on, in a mad dash reminiscent of John Wayne, a hoard of the enemy and led his warrior Swift Boat members to a glorious victory, thereby saving the US from invasion. A stranger reading this citation, not knowing the real circumstances, would picture John Kerry as a super hero. There is no doubt he was the composer of this epic.
