I wouldn't post so much on this stuff, but it's like a car wreck -- you just can't make yourself look away, even though you know you should. The Caged Hamster went rabid Disloyalty is a wonderful trait of the ordinary. — Lucy Butler John Kerry, in a response to the RNC, released 143 “Lies, Mischaracterizations, Distortions, And Half-Truths” sold in the convention. At attempt to fisk an entire four-day convention’s speeches doesn’t come easy, and the Kerry campaign fails in style by producing not one line of rebuttal towards the quotes that they lifted. In trademark, childish fashion reminiscent of his midnight rally, John Kerry shows exactly how his campaign rebuts “lies, mischaracterizations, distortions, and half-truths:” 106. Miller: “…Against the Trident missile, against, against, against. This is the man who wants to be the Commander in Chief of our U.S. Armed Forces? U.S. forces armed with what? Speeutbawlls?”[Miller Remarks, 9/1/04] It’s S-P-I-T-B-A-L-L-S, but you knew that. You just wanted to take a shot at a man with a Southern accent, proving once again that the target of a Democrat rebuttal is the person, and not the message. James Joyner and Powerline note that he’s got an even bigger problem. The Kerry campaign called Sen. McCain—the closest thing he has to an ally among Republicans—a liar. If this is what generally happens to caged hamsters I’ll personally lobby for the ban of hamsters in the pet trade. They should be released immediately and allowed to run free in the fields and meadows, where they can do the Hamster Dance with reckless abandon. Maybe then they can pick up some common sense and recognize who their friends are. UPDATE: Here’s a screenshot of the anti-Southern bigotry that I quoted. Just in case.onefinejay.com
