The major reason for the malpractice quagmire in this country is the insurance carriers who for years had very low rates as they made huge amounts of money in the stock market(remember derivatives)...who had to raise rates a lot to cover their stock market losses from the crash of 2000-2002.Sure,the trial lawyers have had some impact from large rewards in large metropolitan areas like Philly.
