Unconcealed carry is protected by the Constitution.

Gunrack in the back window is not concealed, it's in plain view. I would argue that a gun on a holster was in plain view, but my college landlord carried a gun in a holster when he collected the rent -- north of LSU Baton Rouge is a tough town -- and he said he needed to get a concealed carry permit.
