There's something to be said for wealth in power, at least wealth inspired by noble ideas. The wealthy man will KNOW the advantages he's received compared to more common people. The wealthy man will be less inclined to be bought. The wealthy man doesn't need to concern himself with his personal economic future after office.
That said, one of the things I really liked about Clinton was his true humble beginnings. Bush talks the talk, Clinton walked the walk. He did his best to deliver prosperity for ALL Americans.
