"If the Iraqis did not get rid of Saddam, you should be awe struck at their willingness to take on the the most powerful military machine in the world -- bar none. "

"Powerful military machine" easily won the war. But the powerful military might cannot be applied in what was supposed to be the peacekeeping and rebuilding phases as we are not willing to slaughter hundreds of thousands of them as saddam would have under similar circumstances, or as the remnant baathists or zarquawi would do if they attained power. We, in this current phase, are not now the most powerful military machine by any stretch. Mike
