Boy, all you need to know is that Barnes was NOT Lt Gov at the time and could not have helped Bush in any way. Also since the ANG is run by Feds, a Texas LT Gov is a bit of a stretch outside the chain of command to have any overiding influence to begine with. If Barnes was a General in the Guard at the time, that would have been plausible.

Barnes is a scummy, greedy ex-politician. But he's old now, and he wants to come clean before the Lord calls him up. He wants to confess his sins, and apparently one of the sins that bother him most is helping that worthless punk, George W. Bush, avoid duty in Vietnam. Especially now that the same worthless punk is President, running America into the ground, and smearing his political opponent who VOLUNTEERED to serve, won awards, got wounded and came back and continued serving the country until the present day. While Bush was inhaling lines of blow, Kerry was fighting to end the war in Vietnam back here at home. Kerry's whole life has been a life of service to America.
