In France only 5 per cent supported the president. ...
In China, 52 per cent of those asked backed Mr Kerry against Mr Bush.

China showing an almost even split is interesting. Not bad for a (still) communist country. OTOH, the French are getting close to matching the degree of consensus which could only be achieved by Saddam Hussein - or Stalin... -g.

Global opinion favours Kerry over Bush, says poll

Well of course it does. Kerry has all but promised to do absolutely nothing without a permission slip from Europe and the UN. That's just how they like their US Presidents, clubby upholders of the status quo. None of this nonsense about creating democracies or going after terrorist havens.

But should any of these countries get into real trouble, who they gonna call? Yugoslavia was very educational in that respect.

Most Australians I have met, feel the same way. The Australian PM John Howard does not seem popular on account of involvement in Iraq, and beeing seen as a pro-US administration person. Aus Federal elections are on Oct 9. It will be interesting to see if this dislike translates into votes.
