I agree.

I have said since early on this this war is going to expand. It has to expand because not enough people have yet been killed to pound anyone into submission. Both sides still believe they can win.

That is cold and hard...but it is also the long human history of war. We must be very careful to not become complacent in the mistaken belief that we can't lose.

Presidents always do that during wars.

The Republican "borrow and spend" transformation dates back to the Reagan era. My Dad was shocked by the budget overruns, and dumbfounded that the Democrats went along with it.
