UW, that is true, in large part, because the rest of the world witnessed the reaction of the U.S. to repeated attacks on our soldiers, citizens and embassies, all without counter-attack or retribution. The enemy came to think of us as weak and lacking in the will to stay with the fight. They are gratified even now by the divisions in our country as we approach this election, and find strength in the hope that John Kerry will be elected President.

We are paying the price for years of complacency and inaction when we were attacked on our own soil (WTC 1993 and our embassies) and abroad.

smithee...i have felt from the time we 'took baghdad' that the mantra for the war has been "no good deed goes unpunished"...

i've seen it over and over

goodness is perceived as weakness

make not mistake, the good deeds toward the iraqi populace is appreciated...

but they are not the ones with the weapons and motive to kill and destroy

the terrorists need to see otherwise, yet with the provisional gov't now in control, i'm not quite sure how that will happen

I thought perhaps yesterday, Cheney was being too harsh. However, thinking about it today, and reading some of the media opinions and "so called news" they produce, I've come full circle.

Cheney was once again reminding us we CAN NOT become complacent, nor roll over again....we CAN NOT let them hit us again first, and then try to do something about it. We must be proactive, and anticipate the problems before they happen.

Kerry has been anti-war his entire career, as is apparent. He seems to want to be an appeaser.

He has given the US citizens absolutely no positive guidance as to exactly what countries would become our allies (more than we have now) in the WOT.

He only gives us meaningless words, and kindergarten-like slogans....(i.e. "W" means....)

Kerry has given us NO bills of value for all the years he has been in the Senate.

Kerry has NOT been called to account for what he accomplished while he was on the Senate Intelligence Committee. We have seen NO records from his years there.

Maybe Teresa can afford Kerry. The United States can NOT.

You are right.

And, unfortunately, in the case of Kerry worshippers the enemy is right.

Amen, brother. The Russians found out, yet again, what happens when we are complacent about terrorism. Not that the victims in Beslan were complacent, but the people of Chechenya who tolerate terrorists in their midst, or even admire their tactics. The former President of Chechenya, for pity's sake. Unbelievable.

The Pakistanis are claiming they just wiped out a terrorist training camp in Waziristan.

Just imagine what could be accomplished if wiping out terrorism was a global priority.
