By MONICA DAVEY - NYT

NYT HQ is only about one mile NE of the WTC.

The prevailing winds for Manhattan are South Westerlies blowing to the Northeast towards the NYT from the WTC.

On 9/11 the winds were blowing to the Southeast away from The NYT buildings.

The NYT got lucky. On most days the NYT would have been covered in several inches of debris, dust, smoke and the burnt blood of victims.

That may have adjusted their attitudes.
