re: Trying to change the subject, John ??!!

You were the one who brought up 2000:

"The last election, they only had to
re-count in close states.

And with a false statement that I was correcting.

In a national election based on popular vote, I don't think you do a recount. The variables would more apt to cancel each other out, and both sides would have to live with the totals.

At least that's my opinion. It's not that big a deal to me. My biggest fear is that this election would tie and go to the House... and you would have the USSC and the House of Representatives deciding two elections in 8 years. Not good for the Republic, IMHO.

Why is the media so often tagged liberal? They went after Clinton with a big stick and have passed, up to now, on many of W's funny business situations when he was young. They sure noted over and over that Clinton "did not inhale" Also the media did not get a recount in Florida's 67 counties. There was more wierd stuff in Duval county that helped Bush than anywhere; gore did not challenge the Duval count but things might have turned out differently had he been able to force a full recount. I think JFK stole the 1960 election so I am fairly evenhanded. But i live in fla and saw a lot of issues that Gore stupidly didn't challenge. This might show up as my son's address, he lives in Calif.
