Seriously, democracy is not like instant soup -- it is something that takes time to prepare and develop. The issue is, how do you best promote democracy?

Glad you asked.

1) First get rid of the notion that you invented the idea. It is an idea that exists in the aether for anyone to notice. Your problem is the western constipation that results from a compulsion with conversion.
A true democracy always involves leadership that bases its decisions on meaningful consultation with the members of its body. It also involves accountability to and for the membership.

This ideal has always been present in the doctrine of Islam and in its origination we saw the Prophet Mohammad, and the ensuing Caliphs conducting themselves in this manner. The rigid, corrupt, and oppressive regimes came later in the history of Islam.

2) You promote it by finding and supporting the existing concepts that point to a democratic way of life from within the culture of the people. It is there, I guarantee it. You simply need to have faith that every people seeking a peaceful co-existence with their brethren recognizes the need to be kind, charitable, and just in their dealings with one another.

3) More when you get over the first two…
