The worst thing about Cheney's warning is that it smacks of truth

Why is that such a low blow? I'm not thrilled with the way Bush has handled a lot of his presidency, including Iraq, but I'll probably end up voting for him for that reason - I honestly believe that the chances of a successful terrorist attact is greater with Kerry than with Bush. In fact, three years ago, I never would have thought that 9/11 would be the last attack in this country. I have to give credit for that to the Patriot Act and to the administration's unwillingness to give priority to civil liberties over security concerns.

VP Cheney said what the majority of American voters have believed for months. Domestic concerns mean nothing if your family is escaping another Sept 11 type terrorist attack. Cheney simply put into words what the majority of Americans have believed for a long time. Democrats show their desperation by acting so shocked about the sensible conviction expressed in Cheney's words.
