I think that in the past we have been overly optimistic about hurricanes in Florida, but right now we may have swung to being overly pessimistic.

There have been a lot of times when it looked like the sword of damacles was going to come down on us, and nothing much happened.

I'm still hopeful Ivan won't be a big problem, though I'm preparing for a catastrophe just in case.

where are you located in Florida ?

I am in Ft.Lauderdale area. My comcast net connection was out almost whole morning then shaky in the afternoon, though my cable TV works just fine. Comcast gave me the BS the whole FL is having problem when I called twice and got to 2 different call centers.

Ivan does look quite ominious now, worse than Frances.
