did you tour any of the old buildings in the mountains - the name of a famous one alludes me for a moment but a friend of mine that grew up around that region of Peru keeps talking about it and tells me I should see it some day

I assume you mean Machu Picchu? I did not get to see that, which is the exact excuse I will use to go back, probably next year:-)

I did get to see Chavin though, a site 2500 years old with underground labarynths.....very cool.

That's great you spoke to people from one country and based your entire opinion about what the world thinks off of one country.

Uh, that is not what I really did. But to say "the world" hates the USA because 50,000 or 100,000 marchers protest in London or Paris is a bit disingenuous, don't you think? And that is the exact extrapolation the media makes almost every day.

BTW, we still have people risking their lives to come to this country in record numbers.....that is the ultimate arbiter of whether or not we are "loved" or "hated" in the world.
