I visit Hong Kong frequently -- for the most part they are more concerned with the rising prominence of Shanghai than with Beijing, and there have been some political tensions, but when you ask young people in Hong Kong overall you will find most of them see no difference. You are grasping at straws here. Hong Kong was indifferent to democracy prior to being reintegrated into the rest of China. Now there is concern about losing their liberal character, but more concerned about being left behind as the rest of China surges forward.
