After 9/11, Bush got the biggest pass, as a President, that I ever remember. Hell, he had like a 85-95% approval rating!

He didn't have 95%. If he had 75% or 85% that doesn't mean that no one was condemning him, it just means a strong majority supported him. And yes a lot of that support was just a patriotic rally around the leader when the nation was attacked, and for a few months he did have close to a free pass (although the fringe still attacked him so it wasn't total) but that ended quite some time ago, before Dean's campaign, and before the invasion of Iraq.
