James Carville and Paul Begala thought Zell Miller had mainstream appeal when they recommended Gore to choose him as Veep (I got that from a Slate article). And Miller, I think, represents mainstream America much better than the guy who is the Democratic nominee this year. Miller is a conservative DLC type Democrat and was pretty popular in GA. Course I guess to you everyone from the south is a died in the wool racist for all time. No bounce for Bush, boo hoo. Go right ahead and ignore the evidence to the contrary. That'll work for another fifty days or so.
