I heard very little on the News about Reps calling the letters fake.

Maybe its considered best to stay out of the way while Rather's own supervisors saw off the limb he is hanging from.

Nah, the whole thing is going to blow over, is my guess. Unlike the Swifties there is no organized group to buy ad time to bring the charges against CBS to the forefront of public consciousness. And CBS will stonewall. That'll be the end of it.

The major newspapers are not making a big deal out of it. The reporting minimizes the offense. In about 3 weeks, the issue will be interesting to the few ethical profs at the Columbia School of Journalism.

Of course, the bloggers will still be talking about it, but it will be seen as a tempest in a teapot.
