Why isn't head security advisor Rice held responsible for the 9/11 event?How did she get a free pass?.Her past strengths were centered on Russia and not the cauldron of the Middle East.Why didn't this attack here occur on the Clinton watch?....Bush hatred/oil////?????

A lot of people will believe whatever their self image requires that they believe. People have a perception of the US as a nation with honor and integrity that never fights unjust wars. In order for them to continue to believe that, they must believe that Saddam had a hand in 9/11, otherwise their self image is shattered. No amount of evidence to the contrary will change their minds.

<Saddam "was directly involved"> ... misperception ... .......... Why does the misperception continue that Saddam was directly involved in the attack of the Twin Towers? It's really all rather basic. Right after the 9/11 Commission Report was issued, Cheney attacked it and restated that Saddam was involved. There is a serious desire in this country to believe the government. The myth of Saddam's involvement is being perpetuated for reelection purposes. If Bush and Cheney went along with the Report, there chances for relection would be hurt. Then most of the country would have to reexamine the myth. We live in mythic times ... absurd too! /john
