Are my assumptions wrong?

Good analysis, B89. The way Bush is gathering steam, I am hoping for a 6 seat pickup. But that is probably too high an estimate. There are 30 "red" states, and 20 "blue." The "square" States in the west have 4 Dem Senators that Demographics say should go Republican eventually. So long term, the split should end up 60/40.

Right now, we could end up with as high as a 57/43 split. With Dem defections, that would make a working majority of 60 possible on a lot of items, such as Judges.
