Here Kerry gingerly comes out of hiding under the loving protection of the NYTimes to opine about North Korea which, of course, is rooting for him to win because they know that if they can't stymie his multilateralist instincts then they can always get tips from the North Vietnamese on how to use him like a cheap, disease-free whore. Kerry is even more vulnerable on North Korea (and Asia in general) than he is on Iraq. Bring it on Kerry-boy!Mr. Kerry has said for months that the United States must deal directly with the North Korean government - just as it dealt directly with Khrushchev during the Cuban missile crisis, and directly with China as it became a nuclear power in the 1960's. nytimes.com What a moron! Clinton and Carter tried dealing directly with North Korea (under Kim il-Jung's father who died in 1994) which was this close to economic collapse in 1994. Not surprisingly, impressed as they were by the power of appeasement, the North Koreans started cheating as soon as they finished the unprecedented and orderly transition of power from dictator-father to dictator-son. Yet Kerry still wants to go back to dealing directly with the North Koreas now that they are on the verge of developing the long-range missile capability and increasing the nuclear stockpile they were able to amass thanks to Clinton and Carter!?! It's worth noting that Kerry and Edwards also want to use the same discredited direct approach to dealing with the Iranians which is, of course, why the Iranians want Kerry to win even more badly than the North Koreans. Unlike the beggarly North Koreans, of course, Iran is a major oil power that will have more influence over oil prices if it can develop the nuclear option. At some point even the Democrats who genuinely want to rebuild their party once it hits rock bottom will have to concede that Kerry is a weak leader who has already caused major perception problems abroad that already make this world more dangerous than it has to be.
