When Bush took office gas prices were near $1.

In which country?

"Oil prices tripled between January 1999 and September 2000". On Clinton's watch. That was when the stock market was crashing...remember, the NASDAQ went from over 5000 to under 2500 in the same period.

Then Clinton began releasing the strategic oil reserves.

Do you suppose he might have done that to influence the Nov 2000 election?

See numbers 59 and 60.

sly I see your off the prozac. You really need to stop sprouting off items that can be eaisly proven false.

OK I know CBS does this but they're now the most MIS TRUSTED name in America.

Lets see when Clinton took office gas in CT was around $1.12 and it was around $1.48 when he left (and CT did away with a 10 cent tax / gallon tax). Now of course some gas stations were a little higher and some lower but that was the price for 87 octane unleaded.

I can purchase it today for $1.83. I figure thats a 24% increase.
