I don't believe that National Debt is as big an issue as everyone that wants to use it as political fodder makes it. What do we get for our debt? Lots I believe. Those wanting to defeat Bush sound the warning cry that it's the end. EVERY major company uses debt to grow. You would not own a house most likely if you hadn't gone into debt. The time to have paid down the debt was during peace time, during the Clinton years, but it never went down!. On the other hand the time to use debt as a way to keep the nation moving forward was after 9/11/01. Personally, national debt has NEVER adversely impacted my life, and it's been around in this country for decades.
