I've respected Pat Caddell ever since I first saw him give commentary on MSNBC during the 2000 presidential race. He is a respected democrat talking about the leaders in his own party. Most people don't take the low ground and don't respect others that do. Those that do take the low ground are the exception, not the rule, and that applies to all parties.

Some dem leaders say that Zell Miller has taken the low ground. Some might say the same about Pat Caddell?

I'll never forget being told by a fellow town citizen at a local land use meeting that anyone that doesn't live on the highest hill in my town is called a lowlander. The implication was that those of us that didn't live on "the hill" didn't have as much pull as those that did. Of course most of the people that live on that hill are very rich, and thankfully declined to join our little town.

In the case of politics, it's tough to find high ground, and then it depends on how high on the hill one is when defining the low ground.
