It's obvious they are going to a "President for Life" setup. We will use them to help us with Intel, and for bases in central Asia. "Benign neglect" is about all we can do with them. A "President for Life" setup in a country with a massive nuclear arsenal and a discontented public. Sounds like a recipe for big, big, trouble to me, especially if the "President for life" wakes up one day to find an angry populace in the streets. Democracy is difficult. The alternatives are much worse.
