Comic Genius Or Political Bungler?

By Brian Dotzler

Remember the sweet scent of Democrat whine? “We were robbed; it was stolen; our coveted White House was hijacked by a bunch of greedy, right-winged “neocons” that knew 9-11 would happen before it occurred.” What an odor; what a stench!

According to these “victims,” it was evident from the beginning that fundamentalist conservatives were poised to plunge the country right down the toilet in exchange for filthy oil revenues. So they marched in the streets and gathered on every corner, picketing and protesting, all the while vowing that vengeance would be theirs during the election of 2004. And here we are, almost four years later, hearing the same old story and listening to same ridiculous ridicule about an illegally elected so-called idiot who leads the free world.

Unfortunately (for them), the election of 2004 has been nothing more than a debacle for those who vowed to avenge Al Gore. While the election itself is still a few months away, one can already see the writing on the wall.

At each and every turn, Kerry runs himself into a brick wall. His futile attempts at relating to the average American expose his disconnect not only with the American people but also with America itself. And while his opponent, George W. Bush, is able to poke fun at himself, Kerry snivels like a child that he never falls down while snowboarding.

Now for those who think I’m making a presidential prediction, stand fast. There is still plenty of time left and a storm is brewing on the political horizon.

As the country remembers, during the 2000 election a last-ditch effort by Team Gore released an 11th hour story detailing George Bush’s 1976 misdemeanor for operating a vehicle under the influence. Bush’s constituency was disappointed, but the event itself had little impact. The public basically saw the 25 year-old misdemeanor as a political weapon directed at a man who had already admitted to drinking too much in his youth.

Fast-forward to 2004, one has to wonder what 11th hour story they’ll dig up this time. Whatever the story, it’s a safe bet that angry liberals will scorch the earth trying to wound the president even if America suffers collateral damage.

As election day draws near, it can assumed that John F. Kerry will continue to bumble around with his campaign, inserting his foot into his mouth with each speech he makes while wobbling on every issue except taxes (which he consistently promises to raise). And as for his policies, little he offers makes any sense. Ranting and raving about U.S. jobs being sent overseas while vowing to force businesses into providing health care for their employees, making it even more expensive for American companies to hire American citizens, simply doesn’t equate.

But perhaps the most ridiculous move of his campaign is Team Kerry’s resurrection of Bush’s National Guard service record, scrutinizing whether the current president went AWOL or not. Didn’t we just go down this road? Are they planning to re-release Bush’s 1976 misdemeanor as well?

Digging up the past seems to be Kerry’s forte, which would explain why Team Kerry went so far as to hire two of Clinton’s flunkies, Paul Begala and James Carville, both fired by Clinton after the embarrassing Democrat losses during the 1994-midterm elections.

Although John F. Kerry’s campaign is a lesson on how NOT to run a campaign, his opponent has so much opposition that Kerry might still end up the victor. It doesn’t matter that he [Kerry] supports the war in Iraq and stands against it, and it doesn’t matter that he owns a fleet of SUV’s yet opposes them also. Furthermore, his claim to have ravaged the villages of Vietnam like a modern day Genghis Kahn doesn’t mean that he’s not a man of principle. After all, he did claim to have thrown his medals over the White House fence onto the White House lawn in protest of the Vietnam War even though he claims to have not thrown HIS medals over the White House fence onto the White House lawn in protest of the Vietnam War.

The only thing consistent about Kerry is his inconsistency. Otherwise it wouldn’t make sense for him to bash Bush on job creation and America’s dependence on foreign oil yet vote to kill the bill to drill in ANWR (which would have created an estimated 500,000 jobs or more).

Whether John F. Kerry wins or not, America should be thankful for his comedy act. Who would have thought that a politician could be so entertaining? Although Al Gore was a tough act to follow with all the ridiculous stories he invented, Kerry ads another dimension to storytelling by telling stories that change from day to day. “I was for it; I was against it; no, I was for it until I decided to be against it.” Abbot and Costello would be proud.

Pull up the reigns on that war horse for just a second.

Here is what I asked:

"What have I been less than honest about?

Your response...

"You have no evidence Dan Rather isn't 100% correct....doing to Kitty Kelly now"

Can you show me where I accused Rather of fabricating a story. Can you even show me where I declared the story to be false.

I don't know Kitty Kelly or what she has alleged.

You accused me of being less than honest. So I ask you again, about what?"
