Well, other companies are gaining more and more IPR in the CDMA field. And believe me, QCOM is not really making real friends in the industry, I have a feeling that pretty much everybody is ready to shoot them to the back, it there ever will be a chance...

Just an example: Samsung failed to bring their low end CDMA chips to Reliance because of interoperability issues with Lucent and Nortel infra. Do you really think they gave up? Not likely. They will solve the problems (propably small), and they will be back. They are not really in love with QCOM, and they are one of the strongest players in semiconductor field in the world.
